Seller does a GREAT job of packaging this. It arrived in perfect shape despite a few dents and rips in the outer box from handling during shipping. The instructions are clear and all parts are labeled; all small screws and fasteners are shrink wrapped to a cardboard sheet and labeled as well (this really helped keep everything organized during assembly).

Assembly is easy with the exception of the magnet fasteners for the doors. The instructions show predrilled holes, but my unit didn't have any. It was an easy task to mark, drill holes and install the magnets, but it did take extra time and it would have been nice if they had been there from the factory.

Once assembled the unit looks very nice, especially considering this is a "put together" piece of furniture. I don't have any regrets buying this stand. Other than the one assembly issue with the magnets everything was high quality, from the packaging to the assembled product.

Well-packaged, well-constructed; great value for the price., March 17, 2012

Over the years I have purchased a lot of RTA furniture, and this was probably the best one of the bunch. It was extremely well-packaged (fiberboard ends to protect the corners of the box, lots of polystyrene, each part wrapped in foam, and clearly labeled packages for each of the assembly hardware types), constructed of nice materials (looks and feels like wood, with a textured surface like a real piece of lumber), and the instructions are clear, with both pictures and words (written in plain English by someone who actually speaks the language). Once assembled, the unit looks very nice and feels solid, not flimsy like some RTA stuff. The DVD-sized storage racks on each side of the console are nice, too, and hold a fair number of DVDs, even slightly oversized box sets.

I would recommend that you carefully follow the instructions and consider fitting parts together before finalizing assembly with glue. A lot of the parts are quite similar, and gluing a part in place facing in the wrong direction can be frustrating. Also keep in mind the size of the component storage; my home theater control/sub-woofer is too big to fit in the rather small component area (it would protrude and would also prevent the blu-ray player from fitting inside as well). That quibble aside, this is a really nice console at a great price.

A great stand...for a reasonable price!, January 28, 2012

We ordered this stand for our new 55" LED TV. The black stand goes perfectly with the black TV and helps it "disappear" while watching the big screen in the dark. It is a little wide for a 55" but looks good centered on the stand. (Found that most stands big enough for a 55" TV are designed for 50" to 60+" TVs!) The box it comes in is very long and very heavy. My husband and I (mostly my husband) managed to get it slid down the stairs to our media area. The assembly was not hard at all...it took maybe an hour. The instructions are minimal...only line drawings, no narrative, but it is a very straight forward procedure. I did it myself (a 57 year old woman) except for needing the one end of the bracket held while attaching the other end to the boards and needed help with inserting the glass shelves. Those you need to "jimmy" a bit to get in. The product is very sturdy, very attractive and very functional. It is just perfect for our TV area and we love it!

As a retired Master Cabinet Maker, I would like to make the following observations in regards to this Credenza.Over a period of several months I researched this type of product extensively. After reading literaly hundreds of reviews on similar products,I decided to purchase this particular Credenza and I am happy to say that I was not disappointed.

First off, it is a beautiful piece of furniture and meets all of our needs. It arrived very quickly and was packaged superbly, no nicks, dents or sctatches of any kind. The finish was particularly good considering the purchase price and I was very impressed with the ammount of solid woods used in its construction. Assembly was easy and straightforward but definately requires two people to assemble properly. The use of a high quality wood glue on the dowels is a must for maximum stability. My only criticism is the hinges that they use. While the rest of this product is of good quality the hinges are rather cheap, I cannot fathom that after putting so much effort in making this a fine product, that they would skimp at the end!!! Luckily I had seen this many times during the course of my career and with a little patience I got the doors to fit perfectly. To the average do-it-yourselfer it will be a challenge but I can assure you that with patience it can be done.

Sure, a person could spend seven or eight hundred dollars and save themselves a little grief, but believe me, for the price of this unit you can not go wrong. Buy it.

Looks great, no issues with shipping damage, February 21, 2012

I was really worried about this unit arriving in good condition upon reading all of the reviews about poor packaging. Mine arrived in the standard box, with thicker hard cardboard corners strapped on four sides. The corners are strong enough to take a pretty good beating and the box was in great condition. Once opened, I cannot think of a better way to package the materials inside. Everything was in perfect condition. The laminate is a lot darker than every photo I've seen of this unit. Which is fine by me, it looks better in my opinion. Assembly is quite simple and took about 30 minutes by myself. While I had no trouble with it, I'd imagine that the only difficult part of assembly for someone would be putting the solid wood top on. It is the heaviest piece and I can see someone having trouble in lifting it and aligning it to the 13 bolts. Once together, the unit is solid and looks great in my new "man cave".

On a side note, I have a fairly large Pioneer AV receiver and it fits nicely in the bottom center cabinet space. I will not attach the cardboard backing in this area as I need the room for the several wires out of the back of the receiver. But, because the receiver is so large, it will not be noticeable.

Great stand for the $$, March 2, 2012

This is a great stand for the money. There's a couple things you can do to help yourself. Before you start go buy yourself a pack of bumpers same as it comes with so the glass has more support. This will set you back about $2. Assemble the frame but don't tighten the screws completely at first. Stick the bumpers on the frame then lay the glass in place. Get down and look for spots where the glass doesn't touch the bumpers. Adjust the frame so all the bumpers touch and tighten everything. Spending a few minutes extra putting it together could save you problems later.

I was impressed with the storage capacity, PRICE!!, and sleek look of this center and is why I wanted to buy it. I almost didn't because the reviews on assembly were a bit scary. I went ahead and ordered it and set up a night to have family over to help babysit while me and my husband tackled this project. He got home an hour before me and had it 90% complete by himself. So, assembly was super simple when following the directions and we have had no problems with the doors opening if they were filled with dvd's (as I also read in reviews). It is completely full of DVD's, has our sound system, dvd player and gaming system sitting perfectly on it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!! and definitely can't beat that price!!!!

Shipment: FedEx delivery was quick; maybe it was due to my prime membership. It took two people to deliver the package to my apartment unit. I didn't find any damage.

Product Quality: This package was wide and weighted 110 lbs. The stand is solid to support heavy stuff.

Assembling: Follow instruction. Abundant nuts, bolts and screws.

Other thoughts:

- This stand is not for receiver. I am happy because I only needed a storage for cable box, blu-ray player and center speaker.

- This stand is not deep enough to accommodate both TV and front speakers, even though I chose 60-nch for my 42-inch TV.

Overall, I would give it 5-star.
