If you are considering buying a stand buy this one!!, September 15, 2011
As a retired Master Cabinet Maker, I would like to make the following observations in regards to this Credenza.Over a period of several months I researched this type of product extensively. After reading literaly hundreds of reviews on similar products,I decided to purchase this particular Credenza and I am happy to say that I was not disappointed.
First off, it is a beautiful piece of furniture and meets all of our needs. It arrived very quickly and was packaged superbly, no nicks, dents or sctatches of any kind. The finish was particularly good considering the purchase price and I was very impressed with the ammount of solid woods used in its construction. Assembly was easy and straightforward but definately requires two people to assemble properly. The use of a high quality wood glue on the dowels is a must for maximum stability. My only criticism is the hinges that they use. While the rest of this product is of good quality the hinges are rather cheap, I cannot fathom that after putting so much effort in making this a fine product, that they would skimp at the end!!! Luckily I had seen this many times during the course of my career and with a little patience I got the doors to fit perfectly. To the average do-it-yourselfer it will be a challenge but I can assure you that with patience it can be done.
Sure, a person could spend seven or eight hundred dollars and save themselves a little grief, but believe me, for the price of this unit you can not go wrong. Buy it.
